Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers is suing the EPA over E15 gasoline

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Attorney General Mike Hilgers is joining Iowa in a major legal suit against the Environmental Protection Agency.

This is all over the delayed approval of year-round E15 gasoline sales, despite the Clean Air Act’s 90-day compliance requirement.

The EPA hasn’t responded in over a year.  This lawsuit is aimed at ensuring consumers have access to low-emission E15 during the summer.

The attorneys general of both states say this would benefit drivers and corn farmers.

In an emailed statement Hilgers added, “The Biden Administration knows that increasing access to E15 will help consumers obtain some relief from the rising cost of gasoline, provide support for our farmers, and strengthen US energy security during a turbulent time.”
