Nebraska authorities looking for Omaha man who disappeared after traffic stop
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man went missing last month after a traffic stop in rural Platte County, the sheriff’s office says.
Around 9 p.m. on Dec. 17, a deputy pulled over a vehicle — driven by 37-year-old Jake Clark — for having no plates.
The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said Clark was allowed to leave after the traffic stop.
The next morning, around 5 a.m., a deputy received a report that Clark’s vehicle was parked on a rural road.
Deputies found the vehicle running with its headlights on and trunk open. The driver’s side window was also broken out, the sheriff’s office said.
A duffel bag, which investigators think belongs to Clark, was found on the road about 100 yards from the vehicle.
But Clark was nowhere to be found. The sheriff’s office said investigators have been unsuccessful in pinging his phone.
Clark’s family has also not heard from him, according to the sheriff’s office.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Platte County Sheriff’s Office at 402-564-3229.
