Nebraska bank intensifying efforts to protect customers as mail thefts spike

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Recent mail thefts have a Nebraska bank on high alert, and it’s ramping up efforts to keep personal information secure.
Henderson State Bank received a report from authorities that this has been happening in its service area.
In addition to Henderson, it has locations in York, Greeley and Giltner.
“Protecting our customers privacy and financial security is one of Henderson State Bank’ primary objectives,” bank officials said on Facebook. “So, our awareness and attention to detail in regards to transactional and Customer Identity security will intensify until this threat is past.”
The Henderson Police Department thinks the string of thefts may be tied to an attempted burglary at the city’s post office.
It’s urging everyone to check their mailboxes daily and look over surveillance video recorded last weekend for anything unusual.
