Nebraska baseball beats Michigan State in extra innings in Big Ten tourney

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Nebraska baseball outlasted Michigan State on Tuesday night in its first game of the Big Ten tournament in Omaha.
The Huskers won 5-4 in 10 innings at Charles Schwab Field.
Both teams got on the board in the first inning, but the Spartans added two runs in the second for a 3-1 lead.
Michigan State widened its lead with another run in the fifth inning.
Nebraska began its comeback in the bottom of the sixth, sending two runners home.
With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Joshua Overbeek hit a flyball to right field, but a dropped ball let Robby Bolin score the tying run and send the game to extra innings.
In the 10th inning, Bolin hit a single to send Dylan Carey to home plate and win the game.
Case Sanderson led the Huskers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Cayden Brumbaugh went 3-for-5 with one RBI.
Luke Broderick got the win on the mound, pitching 3.1 shutout innings. He improved to 4-3 on the season.
Nebraska continues its run in the conference tournament on Friday against top-seeded Oregon.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
