Nebraska baseball claws past Baylor in season opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A strong outing from Nebraska’s bullpen led to a season-opening 4-1 victory Friday against Baylor.

Husker ace Brett Sears pitched 5.1 innings, finishing with seven strikeouts and one earned run.  He only gave up three hits.

Pitchers Tucker Timmerman, Kyle Perry and Casey Daiss finished the game out, guiding the Huskers to a road victory.


Shortstop Dylan Carey led the Huskers’ offensive output with two RBIs.

Second baseman Cayden Brumbaugh also had an RBI single, and left fielder Garrett Anglim hit a home run.

Nebraska is staying in Arlington, Texas, to face Texas Tech on Saturday and Oklahoma on Sunday.
