The Huskers kept the pedal down, going up 8-2 after three innings.
Omaha fought back, however, to make a game of it, scoring one run in the sixth, seventh, and ninth innings.
The comeback fell short, though, as Nebraska hung on to win its home-opener at Haymarket Park, 8-5.
Dylan Carey had a big day, going 3-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Cole Kitchens went 2-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs. Mac Moyer had a 2-for-3 day with two RBIs and a run scored.
