Nebraska baseball, softball teams ranked in national preseason polls

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska baseball and softball teams earned spots on national preseason polls on Monday.
Nebraska baseball opens the 2025 season as the No. 24 team in the county, according to D1Baseball.
The Huskers won the Big Ten Tournament title and made another NCAA Regional appearance during last season’s campaign.
Nebraska isn’t the only Big Ten team in the top 25, as Oregon was ranked at No. 12.
Texas A&M is sitting at the top spot, with Virginia and LSU following right behind.

Nebraska softball also earned a top 25 spot, with the No. 21 ranking in Softball America’s poll.
The Huskers join conference opponents UCLA, Northwestern, Michigan and Penn State in the poll.
This season, the Huskers are set to face eight ranked teams, including No. 4 Oklahoma State and No. 6 Tennessee.
Nebraska opens its season on Feb. 6 at the NFCA Leadoff Classic against the Volunteers in Clearwater, Florida.
