Nebraska baseball uses late rally to clinch series over Minnesota

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska baseball team clinched a series win over Minnesota on Sunday, beating the Gophers 8-3 at Haymarket Park.
After going scoreless through the first five innings, the Huskers rallied for 7 runs in the seventh and eighth innings to win their third-consecutive Big Ten series.
The Huskers (24-24, 11-13) tallied 13 hits and committed one error, while the Gophers (22-24, 8-16) had 10 hits and left 12 runners on base.
Robby Bolin, Cayden Brumbaugh, Gabe Swansen, Will Jesske and Joshua Overbeek each put together two-hit performances.
Case Sanderson and Swansen led the Huskers with two RBIs apiece.
Jackson Brockett started the game for Nebraska, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up five hits, 2 runs and two walks. He also fanned two batters.
Grant Cleavinger got his first win of the season on the mound, pitching 0.2 hitless innings and striking out one batter.
Nebraska will step out of conference play for a midweek matchup with Creighton on Tuesday in Lincoln.
First pitch between the Huskers and Bluejays is set for 6:02 p.m. at Haymarket Park.
