Nebraska baseball evens series with Minnesota in walk-off fashion

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska baseball team evened its series with Minnesota on Saturday, walking-off the Gophers 5-4 at Haymarket Park.

Junior outfielder Robby Bolin snuck a ball under the first basemen’s glove into right field to bring home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning.

As a team, the Huskers (23-24, 10-13) tallied nine hits and recorded zero errors, while the Gophers (22-23, 8-15) racked up eight hits and had one error.

Bolin was 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, while Devin Nunez went 2-for-2 from the plate with a run scored.

Tyler Stone drove in three runs and homered in a 1-for-3 afternoon, while Cayden Brumbaugh, Gabe Swansen, Dylan Carey and Will Jesske tallied one hit apiece.

On the mound for Nebraska, Ty Horn surrendered four runs on seven hits across six innings while striking out six and walking none.

Tucker Timmerman (1-1) got the win for the Huskers, dealing three scoreless frames with one hit and a strikeout.

Nebraska will finish its series with Minnesota on Sunday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Haymarket Park.
