Nebraska basketball jumps back into AP top 10 in latest rankings

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The AP Poll saw a massive shakeup on Monday, and the Nebraska men’s basketball team found its way back into the top 10.

The Huskers are now ranked No. 9 after being ranked No. 12 last week.

No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Arizona and No. 3 Michigan all stayed put, while UConn jumped up two spots to No. 4 following Iowa State’s loss to Texas Tech.

Michigan State jumped up five spots to No. 8 following its win over Purdue, and Texas Tech jumped up six spots to No. 10.

The full AP top 10 is as follows:

  2. Arizona (27-2)
  3. Michigan (27-2)
  4. UConn (27-3)
  5. Florida (23-6)
  6. Iowa State (24-5)
  7. Houston (24-5)
  8. Michigan State (24-5)
  9. Nebraska (25-4)
  10. Texas Tech (22-7)

Illinois dropped one spot to No. 11 after its blowout loss to Michigan, while No. 15 Purdue fell seven spots.

In the final week of the regular season, Nebraska will look to make a final push for a 2-seed in the NCAA tournament.

The Huskers will match up with UCLA on Tuesday at 10 p.m. on FS1. NU will close the year against Iowa on Sunday at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tipoff for that game is set for 4 p.m. on Fox.

The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled to tip off on March 12 at the United Center in Chicago.
