Nebraska basketball’s Jaz Shelley named AP National Player of the Week

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Jaz Shelley is the first Nebraska women’s basketball player to be named AP National Player of the Week.

Shelley earned the honor Tuesday after leading the Huskers against then-No. 2 Iowa.

She scored a season-high 23 points in the comeback victory Sunday.

The Australia native scored the final 7 points of a 14-point fourth-quarter rally.

Shelley started last week with 10 points, six rebounds and four assists in a win against Michigan.


Nebraska will have a chance to beat another top-10 opponent when it takes on No. 2 Ohio State on Wednesday.

Tipoff is set for 6 p.m., and the game will be streamed on Peacock.
