Nebraska, Cincinnati set for 2025 season-opener at Arrowhead Stadium

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska football team will start its 2025 campaign at one of the most iconic venues in the NFL, taking on the Cincinnati Bearcats at Arrowhead Stadium.
Nebraska, Cincinnati and the Kansas City Chiefs announced the venue change on Monday, with kickoff set for Thursday, Aug. 28. Kickoff time and the television network is still yet to be determined.
The Huskers and the Bearcats were previously set to play in Cincinnati before being moved to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
The most recent venue change will place the Huskers just over 200 miles from Lincoln.
“We are pleased to partner with the University of Cincinnati and the Kansas City Chiefs to bring our 2025 season-opening matchup to Arrowhead Stadium,” Nebraska Athletic Director Troy Dannen said. “Since arriving at Nebraska, one constant message I have heard from our fans is they miss having road football games that are within driving distance. This game offers an excellent opportunity for our great fan base to make a short trip to watch the Huskers open the season and enjoy Labor Day weekend in Kansas City.”
Tickets for the Nebraska-Cincinnati contest will go on sale this week. All tickets will be sold online on the Chief’s website and Ticket Master.
No tickets will be sold through the Nebraska Athletic Ticket Office.
Nebraska and Cincinnati season ticket holders will receive the first opportunity to buy tickets, beginning Tuesday at 9 a.m.
A public on-sale for tickets will start Wednesday at 10 a.m.
