Nebraska communities standing with Israel after surprise attack kills hundreds

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —  Communities across Nebraska are standing with Israel, where leaders have declared war against Hamas.

The Palestinian militant group launched an unprecedented surprise attack over the weekend.  So far, over 700 Israelis have been killed.

At least four Americans also lost their lives in the assault, and the death toll is expected to rise.

Hamas claims to be holding over 100 Israeli hostages as well.  Family members are begging for their loved ones to be released.

Ricarda Louk’s daughter was kidnapped on camera.  She said, “we have to wait. It’s going very slow here. Government is really, nobody is really calling us. Nobody’s giving us updates.”

Here in Lincoln, the South Street Temple says it’s praying for the well-being of those abducted and wounded.

The Jewish Federation of Omaha also shared a way to help support victims and eventually rebuild.
