Nebraska Community Blood Bank in need of donations

The Nebraska Community Blood Bank is in critical need of blood, and are facing a dangerously low inventory, according to officials.
Sometimes they have less than a one-day supply of some blood types.
They also say, summer is a hard time to collect blood, with schools out of session and families taking vacations.
New and repeat donors are urgently need to step up.
The organization is encouraging the community to help replenish the local blood supply by donating at any of its four donor centers or dozens of local blood drives.
Officials say nearly 100 percent of the blood used by patients in Nebraska hospitals is donated by Nebraska blood donors with the Nebraska Community Blood Bank
The Nebraska Community Blood bank can help you find out if you are eligible to donate blood; generally, you may be eligible if you are:
-In good health.
-17 years or older–16 with written parental consent.
-Free of antibiotics for 24 hours, unless taken for preventative reasons.
-Symptom-free for at least 72 hours following a cold or flu.
