Nebraska Corn Board seeking applicants for six internships across US

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — College students interested in agronomy are being encouraged to take on internships with the Nebraska Corn Board next year.

The board is searching for six applicants to join its internship program. These interns will take on a variety of roles in several different locales while gaining hands-on experience.

“These internships develop young leaders into professionals,” Nebraska Corn Board Executive Director Kelly Brunkhorst said in a press release. “By providing young people with the experiences and tools needed to succeed, we can ensure our industry is well served now and into the future.

Two of the internships are located at board offices in Lincoln, while the other four would take interns across the United States to promote Nebraska’s corn industry.

The internship opportunities include:

  • Communications and Outreach Internship
    • Host: Nebraska Corn Board
    • Location: Lincoln
    • Duration: May 2023 – May 2024
  • Market Development and Innovation & Stewardship Internship
    • Host: Nebraska Corn Board
    • Location: Lincoln
    • Duration: August 2023 – May 2024, with potential summer hours
  • Promotion and International Relations Internship
    • Host: U.S. Meat Export Federation
    • Location: Denver
    • Duration: Summer 2023
  • Communications and Outreach Internship
    • Host: National Corn Growers Association
    • Location: St. Louis
    • Duration: Summer 2023
  • Event Management Internship on the Ethanol Team
    • Host: U.S. Grains Council
    • Location: Washington, D.C.
    • Duration: Summer 2023
  • Public Policy Internship
    • Host: National Corn Growers Association
    • Location: Washington, D.C.
    • Duration: Summer 2023

The board said the positions are available for any college students, with a preference for Nebraska students.
