Nebraska defenders get Blackshirts before season opener against Minnesota

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Blackshirts have returned.
In a social media post Monday, Nebraska football highlighted the 11 defenders who earned their Blackshirts:
- Ty Robinson, defensive lineman
- DeShon Singleton, defensive back
- John Bullock, linebacker
- Omar Brown, defensive back
- Chief Borders, linebacker
- Quinton Newsome, defensive back
- Luke Reimer, linebacker
- Nash Hutmacher, defensive lineman
- Isaac Gifford, defensive back
- Blaise Gunnerson, defensive lineman
- Malcolm Hartzog, defensive back
The announcement comes days before Nebraska faces Minnesota in the season opener.
Earlier this month, defensive coordinator Tony White confirmed that the Blackshirts would return this season.
Last season, interim head coach Mickey Joseph took away the Blackshirts when he took over.
