LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Nebraska football defensive lineman — who is also a four-time state wrestling champion — is joining the Huskers’ wrestling team.

Nash Hutmacher, an honorable All-Big Ten selection in 2023, has been added to Nebraska wrestling’s roster.

Hutmacher has been with the football team since 2020.  But before coming to Lincoln, the South Dakota native was the nation’s No. 1 high school heavyweight wrestler.

In his senior year at Chamberlain High School, Hutmacher was 43-0, with each win via pin.  He finished his high school career 166-0.

On Friday, the Big Ten Network shared a video documenting Hutmacher’s wrestling career.

The Huskers are set to face Wyoming at the Devaney Center on Saturday.

In the match’s program, Hutmacher is listed as an alternate to heavyweight Harley Andrews.
