Nebraska Department of Agriculture holding Poultry Photo Contest

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Got some beautiful poultry you want to show off?
Submit photos to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture’s annual Poultry Photo Contest.
The department is asking Nebraska 4-H and FFA members to submit their photos of poultry here. Photos can be submitted until the July 15 deadline.
Rules and entry forms can be found at nda.nebraska.gov.
“NDA’s Poultry Photo Contest gives 4-H and FFA members the chance to take pictures of their favorite birds while giving NDA the opportunity to recognize students for their hard work in caring for and keeping their birds healthy,” NDA Director Steve Wellman said.
The contest allows the Agriculture Department to share information with poultry owners on how to keep their flocks healthy and prevent the spread of diseases.
With cases of bird flu around the state, the department reminds poultry owners to practice good biosecurity measures to keep flocks safe.
Winners will be announced in the fall, the department said. Winning photos will be featured in promotional materials, an online calendar and social media.
Judges pick winners based on originality, composition and photographic skills.
