Nebraska Department of Transportation October fatality toll

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – According to the Nebraska Department of Transportation, October of 2021 Traffic Fatality Toll, twenty-eight people were killed in traffic crashes on Nebraska roadways.
According to data collected by the Department of Transportation:
- The 28 fatalities occurred in 26 separate fatal crashes
- Of the fatal vehicle occupants:
- 8 were not wearing a seatbelt
- 4 were wearing a seatbelt
- 8 had seatbelt usage marked as unknown
- Fatality accident locations
- Rural Locations: 16
- Interstate: 5
- Other Highways: 15
- Local Roads: 8
- 1 fatality involved a train
- 5 fatalities were motorcyclists
- 3 fatalities were pedestrians
