Nebraska drug dealer sentenced for role in meth ring

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 25-year-old man was sent to prison on Thursday for trafficking methamphetamine into Nebraska.
U.S. District Judge John Gerrard sentenced Leopoldo Ramirez of Lexington to 11 years in prison.
From June 2021 to October 2022, Ramirez was part of a group that brought meth into the state, authorities said.
The group sold over 500 grams of a meth mixture, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Investigators said they found text messages between Ramirez and his co-conspirators about drug sales.
Ramirez also had a list of people who had paid or owed him for drugs.
Those records suggest that he sold about 50 grams of meth independently of his drug ring.
Ramirez will also serve five years of post-prison supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
