Nebraska falls to Georgia Tech, 75-64

The Huskers suffered their second loss of the season on Wednesday night.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – It was a back-and-forth game all night between Nebraska and Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The Huskers (3-2) fell to the Yellow Jackets (2-2) in the Big Ten ACC Challenge.

Nebraska had 11 turnovers in the first half. That was the team’s second-highest turnover total this season. Junior Lat Mayen and senior Kobe Webster’s back-to-back three pointers late in the first half trimmed an eight point deficit down to two points.

The Huskers were no match against guard Jose Alvarado and forward Moses Wright in the second half. Alvarado and Wright scored 24 of Georgia Tech’s final 26 points. They Yellow Jackets went on an 8-0 run with under five minutes remaining in the game.

“The number one thing you have to do is fight through adversity, and battle through the ruts,” head coach Fred Hoiberg said. “They did a much better job of that than we did tonight. That’s why they won the game.”

Webster had a team high with 20 points. He went 7-of-9 from the field and 6-of-7 from behind the arc. Sophomore Dalano Banton had 17 points, nine rebounds and six assists.
