Nebraska football lands 5-star safety from Omaha

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Omaha native Tory Pittman III committed to Nebraska via social media Friday.

Pittman is 247 Sports Composite’s No. 1 safety in the nation and the 16th-ranked prospect in the class of 2027.
He joins 4-star quarterback Trae Taylor as Nebraska’s second 2027 commit.

The 5-star safety had numerous other offers from the likes of Penn State, Oregon, Michigan, USC, LSU, Tennessee and Notre Dame.
Defensively, Pittman has been a force for Omaha Central, racking up 34 tackles and two interceptions as a freshman and 54 tackles and three interceptions as a sophomore.
The Eagles open their 2025 season with a pair of road games against Bellevue West (Aug. 29) and Omaha South (Sept. 5).
