Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen announces reelection campaign
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen announced his reelection campaign on Thursday.
In a statement, Pillen touted the work he’s accomplished since being elected governor in 2022.
“I ran for governor with a clear mission: make our great state even greater. Together, we are doing just that,” he said. “We’ve delivered tax relief, defended Nebraska’s conservative values, and proudly advanced President Trump’s agenda.”
The state’s 41st governor also noted that he’s delivered “historic” tax relief, raised pay for state troopers and signed constitutional carry into law.
Pillen defeated then-State Sen. Carol Blood in the 2022 election. As of Thursday, a Democratic nominee has not been announced.
The gubernatorial race in Nebraska is set for November 2026.

Nebraska is stronger, safer, and freer – but if you learn anything growing up on the farm, there’s always more work to do. That’s why I’m running for re-election. pic.twitter.com/pHmy9sIfzl
