Nebraska health officials offer advice for a stress-free holiday

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KLKN)- The Panhandle Public Health District says the holiday season often brings unwelcome guests like stress and depression. There are ways you can minimize the stress that comes with the holidays by taking these 10 steps.

- Create relaxing surroundings
- Maintain healthy habits
- Share feelings
- Respect differences
- Be realistic
- Take a break
- Practice mindfulness and meditation
Health officials say employers can also help employees manage stress by incorporating wellness breaks, offering flexible scheduling, motivating employees to work together as a team, and educating everyone about financial wellness.
“Being intentional about self-care this holiday season will enable us to experience the true joy of the season and stay focused on what really matters,” Panhandle Public Health District’s Community Health Educator and Health Coach, Cheri Farris said. “Remember to take care of yourself, you are worth it.”
