Nebraska inmate back in custody after disappearing while on religious furlough

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Did church go long?

An inmate accused of going AWOL while on religious furlough is back in custody.

On Tuesday, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Tomica Anderson was arrested by the Omaha Police Department.

Anderson went missing on Sunday, when she failed to return to the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln.

With prior permission, inmates are allowed to leave the low-security facility for work, school or religious services.

She was taken into custody Monday and booked in the Douglas County Jail.

Anderson was serving a sentence of five to six years for burglary in Douglas County.
