Nebraska inmate caught in Georgia three months after escape

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A missing Nebraska inmate had Georgia on his mind, but no peace he could find.
Andres Willis was arrested in Turner County, Georgia, the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said Thursday.
He had left the Community Corrections Center-Omaha on May 22. Authorities said they found his monitoring device about a mile west of the prison.
Willis was serving time for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person in Douglas County.
He would have been eligible for parole this month, according to the department.
The facility in Omaha is the least restrictive type in the state prison system. Inmates can go to work, school or religious services without supervision.
