Nebraska inmate who ran off while on religious furlough is found

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center-Omaha was arrested Wednesday.

According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Dustin Debusk was taken into custody and booked into the Douglas County Jail.

Debusk went missing on June 8 when he did not return from a religious furlough.

He started his sentence of up to nine years on Oct. 8, 2022, after he was convicted of theft and operation of a motor vehicle to avoid arrest.

Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility.

Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities and attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
