Nebraska lawmakers release statements regarding assassination attempt against former President Trump

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lawmakers across Nebraska are releasing statements regarding the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump on Saturday.

Gov. Jim Pillen posted a statement on X:

“Like all Americans, Suzanne and I are monitoring reports of shots fired at President Trump during a rally this afternoon. Please join us in praying that the President and all innocent bystanders are alright and in expressing gratitude for the law enforcement and first responders on the scene.”

Sen. Pete Ricketts posted a statement on X as well:

“Praying for the safety of President Trump & everyone at the rally in Pennsylvania.”

Rep. Mike Flood went to X as well:

“Praying for President Trump, his family, and everyone at the rally.”

State Senator Carol Blood sent us this statement:

“I offer condolences to those whose family members lost their lives today and am thankful that our secret service is the best of the best and did their jobs so eloquently today to protect the former President. Violence is never the answer and I hope this incident brings us closer as a country and not further apart.”

Don Bacon also posted on X:

“Praying for President Trump and his family right now. Prayers that everyone at the rally is safe.”

Sen. Deb Fischer posted this on X:

“Bruce and I are thankful that President Trump has survived this assassination attempt, and we’re grateful for the brave actions of law enforcement officers today.”
