Nebraska linebacker Luke Reimer earns third-team All-Big Ten honors

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A slew of Blackshirts represented the Huskers in the Big Ten’s postseason honors.

On Tuesday, the conference announced that Nebraska linebacker Luke Reimer earned third-team All-Big Ten honors.

Reimer, a Lincoln North Star High School alum, had 48 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss and five sacks in 10 games this year.


Seven Husker defenders also earned honorable-mention selections: Omar Brown, Isaac Gifford, Tommi Hill, Nash Hutmacher, Quinton Newsome, Ty Robinson and Jimari Butler.

This season, Nebraska’s defense held eight of its 12 opponents to 14 or fewer points.

The Huskers also contained eight opponents to fewer than 100 rushing yards.

Two offensive linemen – right tackle Bryce Benhart and center Ben Scott – also received honorable mention accolades, the conference announced.


Benhart and Scott led an offensive line that helped Nebraska rank second in the Big Ten by averaging 176.8 rushing yards per game.
