Nebraska linebacker Luke Reimer returns ahead of Northwestern game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A defensive leader for Nebraska football is returning to the field for Saturday’s game against Northwestern.

Linebacker Luke Reimer, who missed games against Michigan and Illinois due to an infection, is ready to go, coach Matt Rhule said Monday.

“We’re excited to have Luke back,” Rhule said. “Obviously, he’ll be a big boom for our defense.”

In just four games this season, Reimer has 10 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks and 2.5 tackles for a loss.

“Northwestern, you know, can spin it, and they can also run it and they have athletic quarterbacks,” Rhule said.  “So, we’ll need Luke’s athleticism out there.”
