Nebraska man caught with more than 200 child porn images is sent to prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lexington man was sentenced to federal prison on Wednesday on a child pornography charge.
U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced 30-year-old Cody D. Vancura to 20 years for transportation of child pornography with a prior conviction.
In January 2021, Vancura saved child porn on his Google account, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Investigators interviewed him that May, and he admitted to having more than 200 images of child porn on his cellphone, authorities said.
Law enforcement also found seven child pornography videos.
Authorities said Vancura used his phone to view and send child porn and would pretend to be other people, including children.
In 2014, Vancura was convicted of attempted sexual assault of a minor in Red Willow County.
After prison, he will serve eight years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
