LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was killed Thursday night in a crash with a semitrailer in rural northeast Nebraska.

The Cedar County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened around 8:50 p.m. on a highway near Laurel.

A vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Charles Potosnyak of Coleridge, failed to yield when making a left turn onto Highway 59.

The vehicle was then hit by a semi, according to the sheriff’s office.

Potosnyak was not wearing a seat belt.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
