Nebraska man drove past stop sign in crash near Grand Island, authorities say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of driving under the influence in a two-vehicle crash northeast of Grand Island last week.

The crash happened on June 12 near the intersection of Highway 30 and 2nd Road.

The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office said Friday that a pickup truck was heading south when it went past a stop sign and crashed into a westbound minivan.

An occupant in the minivan was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver of the truck – 29-year-old John Groves – was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including driving under the influence and willful reckless driving.
