LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was killed in Thayer County on Wednesday after he was found beneath several large pipes.

Around 1:45 p.m., the Thayer County Sheriff’s Office — along with Deshler Fire and Rescue — was sent to Reinke Manufacturing for a medical response.

When units arrived, they were sent to an area of the facility housing bundles of pipe.

A Reinke employee — 35-year-old Trenton Fuentez from Deshler — was found beneath several large pipes. According to authorities, the pipes came loose from an elevated bundle.

Fuentez was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The sheriff’s office extends its condolences to the family of Mr. Fuentez as well as everyone at Reinke Manufacturing,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “We also appreciate the assistance provided by Deshler Fire and Rescue.”

According to the sheriff’s office, grief counselors are available to anyone who needs assistance.
