Nebraska man found dead in grain bin on Platte County farm

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Humphrey man was found dead Tuesday in a grain bin on a farm in Platte County.

Around 6:30 p.m., deputies were sent to a farm about 4 miles east of Lindsay after a caller reported that a man was stuck in a grain bin.

Several nearby fire departments responded to the farm, where they found 81-year-old William Babel.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Crews partially emptied the grain bin to recover the body.

The Platte County Sheriff’s Office said the death is under investigation.
