Nebraska man found guilty of keeping drugs in reach of kids

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A southeast Nebraska man was convicted Wednesday of drug and child abuse charges stemming from deputies’ discoveries at a filthy home.
Quentin Teeters, 36, pleaded guilty to violating the Sex Offender Registry Act, possession of a controlled substance and negligent child abuse with no injury.
Two misdemeanor charges of maintaining a drug house and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed under a plea deal.

On July 5, deputies with the Saline County Sheriff’s Office went to a home in Wilber looking for Teeters.
He had failed to update the Nebraska Sex Offender Registry on where he was living, according to court documents.
Deputies said they found Teeters — and so much more — at the house.
Meth and meth pipes were found throughout the house, including out in the open on a coffee table, an arrest affidavit says.

A baby and three other children lived in the home, the sheriff’s office said.
The baby’s diaper was “soaked to the touch,” according to the affidavit, and dog feces were “smeared all over the floor” of two rooms.
Deputies also arrested 32-year-old Cortney Connelly at the home.
She has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court Jan. 8.
Teeters is set to be sentenced on Feb. 5.
