Nebraska man gets decade in prison for meth and gun charges

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Nebraska man was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Friday on drug and gun charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard sentenced Christopher P. Twohig for possession with intent to distribute 5 grams or more of methamphetamine and carrying a firearm during a drug trafficking crime.
Twohig, of Cozad, was arrested on a warrant on March 22.
Officers found him in a parking lot convenience store in Cozad, which is about 50 miles west of Kearney.
He had 45 grams of meth in his coat. Authorities said 41 grams of that was pure meth.
Investigators also found a gun in his vehicle with more than 100 rounds of ammunition.
After prison, Twohig will spend five years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
