Nebraska man gets over 30 years in prison for making child pornography

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Hastings man will spend over three decades in prison for making child pornography, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.
Joshua Sund, 42, was sentenced Tuesday to 33 years and four months in prison for two counts of producing child pornography.
District Judge John M. Gerrard also ordered Sund to pay $3,000 to victims of child pornography crimes.
An investigation began on Nov. 3, 2021, when a “concerned individual” called the Hastings Police Department after he bought a laptop from Sund.
On the laptop, the caller found videos that appeared to show Sund sexually assaulting a minor.
After getting a warrant, authorities searched the laptop and found seven pornographic videos of Sund and a minor.
Once he is released from prison, Sund will spend 10 years on supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system.
