LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A 25-year-old man was arrested in northeast Nebraska on Monday after police say he kidnapped a woman.

Hunter J. Colfack of Genoa faces 12 charges, including kidnapping, strangulation and two counts of terroristic threats.

About 10 a.m. Thursday, someone saw Colfack dragging a woman by her hair, according to the Columbus Police Department.

While officers were on their way, Colfack left in a vehicle with the woman and her baby, police said.

Officers called the woman on her cellphone, but she said she couldn’t talk, according to an arrest affidavit.

The call then ended abruptly, police said.

The affidavit says Colfack drove the woman and her baby to a state wildlife management area near Genoa.

He let them go about 2 p.m. that afternoon, according to police.

A warrant for Colfack’s arrest was issued on Friday. Three days later, police said he was taken into custody without incident.

On Tuesday, a Plate County judge set Colfack’s bond at $650,000. He must pay $65,000 to be released.
