Nebraska man killed in crash with semi in Eagle

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Elmwood man was killed Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash in Eagle.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 34 and East First Street.

The driver of a Mazda CX-7, 43-year-old Geronimo Hernandez, was heading south on East First Street when he pulled out into the intersection.

Hernandez failed to yield the right of way and was struck by a westbound semi, according to the sheriff’s office.

Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the semi, a 37-year-old Colorado man, was uninjured.

The crash is under investigation.
