Nebraska man killed in two-vehicle crash near Grand Island, sheriff’s office says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was killed Thursday in a two-vehicle crash north of Grand Island, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 5:30 p.m., a Ford Explorer was heading east on White Cloud Road when it crossed Highway 281 and struck a northbound Chevy Impala.

The sheriff’s office said the driver of the Ford, a 62-year-old St. Paul man, did not yield when crossing Highway 281.

A passenger in the Chevy, 59-year-old Darren Findley from St. Libory, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

The Chevy’s driver and three other passengers were taken to a Grand Island hospital.  The 62-year-old man was also taken to a hospital.

The sheriff’s office did not disclose the extent of their injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, and charges are pending.  The sheriff’s office thinks alcohol was a factor.
