Nebraska man killed when hang glider crashes into garage

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was killed Monday in a hang glider crash in eastern Nebraska.

Just after noon, deputies were sent to a home southwest of Columbus, according to the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.

They found that a hang glider had crashed into the roof of a garage, the sheriff’s office said.

The pilot, 50-year-old David Bower of Columbus, was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be conducted, the sheriff’s office said.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are also investigating.
