Nebraska men’s basketball opens season with convincing win over West Georgia

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska men’s basketball team dominated in its season opener Monday, beating West Georgia 86-53 at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
As a team, the Huskers shot 46.9% from the floor, while the Wolves shot 29.2%.
Lincoln native Braden Frager led the Huskers with 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting. Frager also had five rebounds and two assists.
After sitting out last season with an injury, Rienk Mast had 10 points on 3-for-7 shooting, 11 rebounds and one assist.
Also making his return, Jamarques Lawrence racked up 18 points and a team-high six assists.
Connor Essegian finished the game with 12 points, but shot 1-for-7 from deep.
Nebraska was dominant on the boards, outrebounding the Wolves 49 to 37.
The Huskers will return to action on Saturday against Florida International.
Tipoff is set for noon at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
