Nebraska men’s hoops opens gauntlet of Big Ten opponents with Indiana

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska men’s basketball is 11-2, the Huskers’ best start since the 1991-92 season.
But a gauntlet of 18 straight Big Ten games looms ahead. Nebraska opens the stretch against Indiana on Wednesday.
Coach Fred Hoiberg said Nebraska got a taste of conference play in a loss to Minnesota and a win over Michigan State.
But the Huskers will have to be consistent if they want to go dancing in March.
“It’s just the consistency of going out there, executing your game plan and playing 40 minutes of physical basketball,” Hoiberg said.
He said you can’t let up against Big Ten teams because of their size, athleticism and talent.
“If you take any time off, any stretch off, it can get ugly in this league,” he said.
Nebraska is hosting the Hoosiers on Wednesday. Tipoff is set for 8:07 p.m., and the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.
Indiana has won the last seven matchups against the Huskers.
“We’ve had three days to prepare for this one; we’ll get a good opportunity tomorrow again to shoot around,” Hoiberg said. “And then it’s all about going out and executing.”
