LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A mother and son in northeast Nebraska were sentenced Monday for meth charges.

Kyle Kirstine, 43, was sentenced in Stanton County District Court to two years in prison for possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear.

His mother, 64-year-old Debra Udell, got two years of probation for possession of methamphetamine.

Last fall, Stanton County deputies searched Udell’s home in Woodland Park, an unincorporated community just northeast of Norfolk.

They found meth inside and arrested both Udell and her son.

Kirstine later failed to make a scheduled court appearance, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Then in January, Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger spotted Kirstine driving a vehicle in Stanton.

Authorities said they chased Kirstine to Norfolk, using spikes to stop his vehicle, and took him into custody again.

Both Udell and Kirstine have previous drug convictions.
