Nebraska National Guard members to provide support at Trump’s inauguration

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A group of Nebraska National Guard members are lending a helping hand at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.
Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen announced on Friday that the eleven National Guard members will provide support as Washington, D.C. prepares for the ceremony.
“We are proud to once again provide National Guard support to the Presidential Inauguration,” Pillen said in a press release. “These missions follow a decades-long tradition of supporting this important.”
Six of the members are from the Lincoln-based 72nd Civil Support Team, who will help local officials conduct next week’s event.
An Army National Guard chaplain and four of the chaplain’s assistants from Lincoln are providing religious services support for the soldiers and airmen at the inauguration.
“I would like to thank these dedicated members of the Nebraska National Guard for their willingness and readiness to take on these critical duties,” Pillen said. “I would also like to thank their families and employers for providing them with the support they need so that they are able to serve in Washington, D.C., during this important mission.”
