Nebraska National Guard sends troops off to the Middle East

On Saturday afternoon families from all across the state had to say goodbye to their loved ones from Bravo Company, as they go off to train in Fort Bliss Texas.

“It’s a tough day for the families because for the next 9 months their not going to have their loved ones here and we want them to know that we are grateful for their service. We appreciate their sacrifice and that we’re here to take care of their families while they’re gone,” Gov. Pete Ricketts said.

This is the second deployment to the Middle East for Bravo Company and for some it’s their third or fourth deployment overseas.

So these troops recognize the sacrifice their families make along with them.

“There’s a lot of sacrifices that everybody makes when we go through here. The biggest sacrifices to the family that we are leaving them not behind but we are leaving them to do everything that we would normally do back home,” Brandon Bennett of Bravo Company said.
