LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A former Nebraska pharmacist was stripped of her license this month.

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers said Tuesday that Danelle Charf’s license was revoked on April 2 after a hearing.

Charf owned pharmacies in Neligh and Tilden in northeast Nebraska.

Authorities said she billed health care programs like Medicare and Medicaid for brand-name products while dispensing generic drugs.

She was sentenced in November to two months in federal prison and ordered to pay $573,337.53 in restitution to Medicare and Medicaid.

Charf won’t be able to seek reinstatement of her license for at least two years, according to the attorney general’s office.

She also must pay a $5,000 civil penalty.
