Nebraska pharmacy owner gets probation for filing false Medicaid claims

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Attorney General Mike Hilgers on Monday announced that a Panhandle woman was sentenced for filing false Medicaid claims.
Joan Kicken, 65, of Minatare got two years of probation and was ordered to pay $76,963.90 in restitution to Nebraska Medicaid.
Kicken, the owner of Campbell Pharmacy in Oshkosh, was charged with one count of fraudulently obtaining a payment on behalf of a recipient of medical assistance, which is a felony.
State and federal officials found that Kicken submitted claims to Nebraska Medicaid for prescription drugs that were not authorized by a medical practitioner.
A forgery charge was dismissed in return for her guilty plea. Her pharmacy license has also been revoked.
