LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — More help is on the way to Louisiana.

Nebraska Public Power District crews left this afternoon. They’re going to help restore power after Hurricane Ida.

“We’re generally up by 6 am and we probably will be stopping work around 8 pm,” said Reymond Blessin, NPPD. “So it’s gonna be long it’s going to be hot well have to stay hydrated and take care of ourselves.”

16 crew members are on their way there and will be stationed in Baton Rouge.

They will be working to help restore power to nearly one million people. They expect to stay about two weeks and say they’re thankful for the opportunity to help folks.
